yupp I agree with VC, Acn rarely hire fresh grad straightly to become a consultant. That will be very surprising if there's one and the freshie must be very all rounders.

WTF??? Wat do u mean they dun giv u chance for consulting ? Accenture is a MNC consultation firm. The folks there provide consultation in every aspect in all industry. Engineering division, IT division, et cetera. If they dun hire IT graduates as IT consultants for IT divisions , who wld they hired ? Engineering graduates ? But im pretty sure that they dun hire freshies as consultants - that only happen like once in a blue moon. Correct me if im wrong.

But it is not fair for IT grad. They don't even give you a chance to try on Consultant career path. Once you jioin, they will put you under IT path automatically. anyway, i don't feel any engineering student is better than IT grad.

<blockquote cite="As a freshies in Accenture, the paid is very veyr high. However, this salary only apply to Engineering /consultant. IT staff only got 1.8k as my friend. The career ladder for both is totally diff. IT ppl work like dog, still get low pay compare to consultant.">

Well, all those 1st class honors degree IT graduates certainly can live up to certain requirement in terms of the scope they've studied. They work well with computers. But with people ? It all lies in your communication skill. Consultation firm get sales through consultants. Furthermore, it's not uncommon to have a sales and marketing guy to has a pay slip higher that the CEO himself.
